Creating a culture that prioritizes athlete health and safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in athletics, not just healthcare personnel. Youth view their coaches as role models and mentors. We know that a child who has one or more caring adults in their life is more likely to succeed in adulthood. Coaches have the unique power to guide young people not only on the playing field but also in life.
U.S. Council for Athletes’ Health (USCAH) has partnered with Coach Beyond to provide a FREE mental health training course to the first 25,000 secondary school and youth sport coaches who enroll and complete the course. This free training is designed to support coaches in increasing their awareness, knowledge, and skills regarding student-athlete mental health.
