This past month LiFEsports was invited to share our work both at a national presentation, as well as to a group of engaged students at the University of Ottawa. LiFEsports was busy last week presenting our work across the country and in Canada!
On March 10th, Dr. Jerry Davis presented on Institutional Strategies for Engagement with the other 2020 W. K. Kellogg Foundation Community Engagement Scholarship Award recipients. His presentation focused on how universities could provide the support and tools necessary for university staff and faculty to engage in long-term, sustainable community engagement.
At the same time, Dr. Dawn AndersonButcher, Stephen Moore, Catelen Ramsey, and Taylor Broermann shared LiFEsports with Dr. Martin Camorra's Physical Activity and Health Class from the University of Ottawa. The team presented on our individual program models - traditional summer camp, LiFEsports+, and the Youth Leadership Academy. Time was also used to share how LiFEsports modified programming during the COVID-19 pandemic to continue to reach underserved youth.
